Bahamas Shootout...what is it like?

Has anyone ever gone to the Bahamas Shootout? What was it like? Were the payouts decent? Was the hotel nice? How many people were in attendance? I have a few friends who are playing VNEA who have thought about going, but they wanted to know if it is worth while.

the bahamians always put on a good event, I haven't been to nassau ( I think the last tournament was there?), but would like to go there sometime. freeport is nice too, you'll have a good time!!! barry smith and all the bahama guys are great people!!!
 
A few years back a team from Ottawa won the event. They raved about the event and went back the next year and placed well but didn't win. Their opinions is this is one of the best events they have been to and loved every minute. The only reason they didn't go back the third year was the weather was brutal and experts warned it could become dangerous so they were concerned about the flights.

All in all they would recommend it hands down.
