Balabushka Question

You're the best ;) Actually, I just ran into an idiot who said he traded a Meucci for an unknown cue in the '70's and when he removed the wrap, it was signed "Balabushka" I asked him if he wanted to sell it and he said, "no" but that it appraised for $7300! I am sure he is full of it, but he did pique my curiosity. BTW Fatboy, I love the cues you post pics of here and would cherish the chance to see them and perhaps hit a few balls with a szam or bushka. I grew up playing pool in my parents pool room back in NJ and all the best players had bushka's or szams and I never asked any of them if I could hit a few balls with their cue out of respect. Once one of the players offered and I did hit with his very fancy bushka and I will never forget that experience. I am planning a trip to vegas sometime in the next few months and will try to send you a PM. Thanks for always sharing. A szam or bushka is out of my budget but I have a few Tascarella's and other cues from todays cue makers.

your welcome to hit balls with all but one of my cues the "Tribute" Barry Szam cue I havent hit a ball with and if I ever do it will be with Barry, but the rest of them are there to be used, I have a old Tad thats pretty sporty feeling too. Just find me here, I will be in Vegas most of the summer, I live 10 minutes from Mandalay Bay and 7 minutes from the airport so you wont have to have to go to alot of work to see me, if we do it right we can go to SW and see Laurie too. I have a SW that I played with for 7 years thats the nicest hitting SW ever IMO, and othr ones that are nice looking and some great plane jane cues as well. let me know. Ball's in your court,

more importantly enjoy the Tascarella's those are big cues too, dont think otherwise, I dont have one...yet, almost bought one recently but I just didnt like how that cue hit-it was a bit soft, I tried everything I could 3 different brands of shafts, and then some Bushka shafts, Szam shafts that fit too, I just couldnt make that Tascarella work no matter what shaft I put on it. It was just me not that cue-it is an amazing one of a kind really one of a kind to say the least(since its still on the market I think, So I wont describe it), It just didnt feel good for me someone else will have a dream cue when they buy it. It was the triple nuts as far as looks go it had the best looking butt/ass end I ever saw on a cue(i'm not exaggerating) and I'm a ass guy see my girlfriend on a thread in the main forum*** :) . I did everything to make that cue work as I wanted it for a player/travel cue(at home I use alot of cues-I adjust quickly) I like the looks so much and flying commercial with a Barry scares me, I would be on the news if it got lost for all the wrong reasons, then jail for along time. I have hit balls with other Tascarella's that were great MARCUS(FAST AND LOOSE-who is addicted to capital letters but still a great guy ;) ) on here has a huge collection of them, all of them are big cues.

When i'm playing seriously I do stick to one cue a Barry I have as I play better with it and I risk travelling with it. But I do like to enjoy the collection, infact I dont know how many I have, soon I'm gonna photograph them and then have someone build a database for cost, current value year bought, etc. none will ever be sold, I only know how many Barrys I have its either 20 or 21, the rest I'm not sure, I think 8 bushkas, I dont know how many Gus cues.

sorry for the long post i was just in the mood to type, hope you liked my story or anyone else who reads it, i'm just sharing my self, not looking for attention or bragging, just letting people know me, its obvious I'm not well organized. thats a huge understatment. But i am having fun most of the time I did work 12 hours yesterday and today and the day before, a 6 hour day would feel like a week off, everything comes at a price but I like work most of the time but not now-fighting this recession is brutal.

i'm going to bed.

oh yeah anyone want to buy some used Bushka wraps, I cut them all off tonight, but forgot why I cut them off. :)

cheers

regards

eric
