I want some names of cuemakers that could do this , I would think could be lower depending on number of inlaids. This would be a four veneer, ring pattern at all position, linen wrap , and I'm thinking diamonds in butt section, piloted stainless 14 thread, haven't got it all figure out yet. I'm really looking for input from people who have had cues made , I have a couple in mind now , just want to see what's else is out there. Thanks

What you are asking for is a Szamboti style and not a Bushka style cue, with what you chose for ring work. I would be about one and half times your hoped for budget with some slotted ivory diamonds or mother of pearl in the butt sleeve and points.
 
Sorry about that , I guess your right, but I really haven't finished the design, so it could go either way, I really liked the Adams GB23 I had, I was thinking something close to that design.

I'm building that cue now for a customer but the one I'm building will have two shafts with good tips, a bison leather wrap and besides the diamonds and dots described in the sleeve, mine also has 12 more dots, 1 above and 2 below each diamond in the points and the forearm is very tight fiddle back maple. Instead of the deco-rings on the GB 23 mine are basically the same construction but instead of the thicker brown crushed velvet rings mine will have ivory but much thinner than that the brown.

Good luck!...I had a cue built with similar specs and it ran me $1250. If I'd put as much ivory in it as I wanted it would have been closer to $1800. I suspect rings at all positions will make this tough to keep under $1000, but you may be able find some good builders to pull it off within your budget.

Check out Gary Medlin in Lake Charles, LA (GEM Cues...google it)...he makes jam up cues and does great on old school, Bushka or especially Szam tributes. He isn't building much anymore, but I emailed him my specs a couple of years ago for a quote and he was close to what you're looking for. At least back then he was willing to power up again to do a cue. Carolina Custom (Denver, NC) will work with you on your design and budget to put it together, too...great guys, great cues, great prices. I'd be shocked if they couldn't figure something out for you.
