Balabushka... "the quintessential apotheosis " of a career that launched an industry

Designs

Steve and I worked up actual working "blueprints" for the design.... This cue is a heart stopper.. my first or second favorite of the bunch. Yes Bushka did the Bushka ring with the dots first, and there are red rings in the back end, high and low, and its an absolute killer.

The initial pattern of the 4 dots with the slotted diamonds over and under is a pattern I have seen twice. I added the rest. Getting black "Bushka" leather.

The capper...

Didn't I mention these all have Ron Thomas cases?

I wouldn't mind housing my Klein/Davis Balabushka tribute in one of those cases. I originally was going to have Joe Whitten make a case using the same Spanish bull leather that is in the wrap. I also wanted some of the 20+yo Brazilian Rosewood that was in the cue, used in the case. However, by the time I got the cue from Steve, I figured sooner or later I would find something nice to house it in. Are the Ron Thomas cases being made just for the cues you commissioned from Steve?

Looking very nice, Joe. Can you tell us what the point veneers for this one will look like?

The inspiration and the anniversary edition...

The Mizerak / Liscotti champions cue. We chose this because we were friends with both players, and 2 simple design elements have been carried over and copied by just about everyone, the slotted stitch ring and the maple windows. This cue also has his ivory arches. We added a few minor enhancements. We decided to make the prongs longer, as a Szamboti prong would have been. We also added a single diamond in the prongs. We'll show them soon...

We actually had the cases, and Steve and I did the logo. These are just for this run of cues. I am sure Steve could do something for any flat top case (plastic/wood) if requested.

Thanks Joe. Good luck with this venture, we both know there is no one in the world that can make a better Balabushka tribute than Steve!

40-2

....as I said before.. here is the Liscotti / Miz World Champions Anniversary cue. The stitch rings, were a first by George. (Updated post 29)

This cue has an authentic Cortland 9 wrap, as will all the cues that are wrapped in linen. They will get authentic Ku-Bumpers as well.

Very nice detail. I'm glad you chose to add the MOP diamond in the points, as I always thought the original should have had that for balance.

Always loved George's cues with the polyester/plastic, and the red is one of the best colors, if not the best, as it just reflects light really nice. All of these cues are top notch from a top notch cue maker.

Which one is this? Is it an original Bushka cue? If so, that is beautiful for the era. Still very modern looking.
