Ball Marks from Diamond Table Pockets - The Fix

This had been a frustration of mine for some time. I have even heard this as a reason someone didn't like Diamond tables!!

Here's the fix for it: I had heard about using shoe polish, but Glen aka. RealKingCobra showed me this exact product to use. I apply it about every 2-3 months.

You can do it carefully without masking off the pockets but I'm anal retentive in the care of my Simonis, so I use masking tape. It's very fast too!

I will apply a liberal covering to all pockets and then come back with a light buff with a dry cloth.

Happy shooting!

marks on balls

I had not noticed this problem.Does it occur on new tables or tables that have been played on more?

It happens more as the the finish on the leather becomes dry. It gets worse progressively. This also keeps the pockets looking new. Just like a good pair of shoes! ;) Every couple of months is usually adequate.

My step son used saddle soap on one of my tables. this takes the black finish off and leaves a NICE dark brown finish to the leather that looks much better than the black on the walnut diamondwood.

Thanks

That's sounds nice Grady. Any way we could get a picture?

Ps. you made a comment during a tournament, that you were commentating on, that has stuck in my head for years. "inside English has been the bain of many a player". LOL. I can still hear you saying it. Thanks for all that great commentating!

RKC also just mentioned to me that the gel type hand sanitizer works real good to remove the marks.
