Ball????

In regards to the Cents , is there a difference between the blue circle cue ball and the solid blue dot cue ball? If there is, what exactly is the differences? TIA

Blue Circle: Super Aramith Pro resin (same as measle)
Blue Dot: Aramith Premium resin

Thanks, but I was referring to the old blues ones that came with Centennial sets ( which I believe we're out long before any of the newer Aramith sets.

The blue ( dots; circles ? ) that came wig the Centennial sets have always been my favorites to play with. It always seemed I could get a lot more action on the CB than any of the red ones. I'm guessing it has something to do with the weight of the CB's ( blue being lighter???)

That info is from Aramith circa 2012. I seem to recall that Aramith did not always produce the Centennial set so perhaps the blue circle ball you are thinking of comes from when Aramith was not manufacturing the Centennial set for Brunswick.

If the differences in the Tournament and the Pro set is "personal perception" that means that every player that played with us has had that same perception. When he first got it, I took a shot with draw that was about 1/4 the action I was expecting to get, and it did not get any better over the next few days will we learned to hit the ball with more pace.

Where the Tournaments washed with some chemical or something? That is a huge difference! I use my Diamond polisher to keep my sets nice, I have Tournaments, Cents, and Cyclops and I really dont notice a great difference in playability whether I use the QB that came with each set, Red Circle, or a Measle Ball. The difference you mention is much larger than say a Red Circle and a Magnetic Ball, even a dirty barbox QB.

Well maybe 1/4 the action was a bit much, but I hit it with a draw stroke to go back a few inches and basically got a stop shot.

They were just a few days old at that point and not cleaned with anything yet.

They play good, but you need to really be aware of how to hit them. It's a bit like playing on a tight table for the first time after you are used to 5" pockets or table roll on a crappy table making everything for you. You find out pretty quick how your skill really is when using Tournaments vs the other sets. They don't play bad or "funny" once you get used to them, anymore than a tight table is inherently bad or good, it just needs more focus to play on/with.
