Ballbreakers in YOUR neck of the woods!

That's a tough question for me to answer, NewGuy. For one thing, I have NEVER heard of "Bungalow Billiards & Brew Co.," "The Bungalow at Manchester Lakes," "Continental Modern Pool Lounge," or "Whitlow's on Wilson."

Bungalow: I've been to Bungalow, once, a few years ago: 5 or 6 8-foot tables, with a bamboo theme (the bar, not the tables). More of an after work pick up bar than a pool bar. The one I went to was in Shirlington, I think, so "Manchester Lakes" might be different. I'd be surprised to find any shooters there.

Continental: A new place, in Rosslyn, from the owners of CarPool, Bedrock, Atomic, Buffalo,... I haven't been there yet, but based on the owners, it has some GCIVs with Simonis and some 8' tables, but that overall it's as much or more bar than pool hall.

Whitlow's: A pick-up bar, with live music, in Arlington. About 10-15 7' coin-op tables, Valleys I think. Never seen any shooters there, but I've only been in 2-3 times.

Fast Eddies: The other two locations are in Centerville and in DC. There are 4 "Fast Eddies" in DC, but they don't all share the same owner.

My, my, Cory, you do get around! :D

Cory and EggMcDogit, which is your FAVORITE pool room in the D.C. metro area to go hang out in?

Just curious!

I like first break for it's vacuum pockets...I can get out in only 4-5 innings there!

And YOU too, Shorty, would be a shoe-in. You would bring a sense of levity to the table with your free-stroking style and pleasant demeanor. Is there a Ballbreakers coming to a town near you?

JAM

I sure wish so JAM...but alas no TV for this little fella.
Not much comes here but the weather channel to film a hurricane and that's about it.

When I lived here in 01-02 I lived in Alexandria, my girlfriend lived in Cleveland Park, and now I live in the District, so I've seen a lot of places between here and there.

In the District, I'd say it's no contest: Bedrock Billiards in Adams Morgan is my favorite. Nice tables (5 9' and 2 8') and a great atmosphere. No parking, though.

Buffalo is better now that they've replaced all the rails and felt, but they went with burgundy felt for some ungodly reason.

Atomic Billiards in Cleveland Park is a pretty cool place, too, with a nice Monday night handicapped 8 ball tournament.

None of these places have a lot in the way of big action or worldbeaters, though there's some. I don't want to kill anyone's action by naming them here, but you've probably seen them all one time or another at Orange Ball on Wed.

went to a ballbreakers tournament last night. way it works is they had a bunch of little tournaments last night and the winner of each one is going to play in a 16 person tournament at buffalo billiards. last night's deal was a race to 5, single elim, winner breaks - oh yeah it was free. btw, for people thinking about playing, I think they cap off the players at 32...so signup in advance.

ended up getting through a couple rounds and losing...I played like a champion...only missed 4-5 times a rack! it was confirmed that the 16 player tournament is race to 1  . winning a satellite-tournament is a lotta work to go play a race to 1...which we all thought was insane. still, can't really complain about a chance to get a free gold crown. thanks to the show for setting up all these tournaments and making them free
