I have these set up on a Brazilian made table, from the photos can anybody tell me why does the ball pop out of the pocket some times, I can hear the ball hit the bottom of the pocket, but it would pop out on to the table again. Does anybody have any ideas on, how to make this not happen??
Thanks for the help in advance.

yes, what is happening is the balls are hitting the blind aprin, you can see it sticking into the pocket in the first picture, to the right side inside the pocket. If your ball is going into the bottom part of the pocket and bouncing back out, I'm almost certain this is the problem. Solution, take the blind aprin off the table and double check thats the problem. then have the aprin cut straight down instead of the curve into the pocket or slide the aprin over towards the side pocket. is this the only pocket? do you see in the picture where on the right side the wood pertrudes into the basket and not the left side? I don't see anything else with this pocket. Your cloth is nappy, perhaps your overbrushing, only once a month

I see where you're talking about, but that's not it I think. The ball will hit the bottom of the pocket you hear the click and then it will pop back on to the table. I will trim that down, thanks.

This is usually, It must be bouncing off the cork into bottom. I have an idea to fix the problem, it would probably be easier to explain by phone, 714-379-8983, SD

Looks like the distance from the slate to the back of the pocket is pretty tight, so maybe the balls are bouncing straight back instead of slightly dropping as they roll into the pocket. Maybe try some type of padding to kill the ball speed when it hits the back of the pocket .

Where I have seen similar problems with balls bouncing out is due to a couple of things. Usually happens when shooting hard.

1. Shooting an extreme draw shot transfers follow to the OB. The spin on the OB causes it to spin out of the pocket.

2. More than likely where your OB is jumping into the pocket from shooting the CB with a slightly elevated cue. The CB jumps into the OB causing the OB to jump. The OB hits the top of the pocket and bounces out.

I believe item 2 is the majority of the problem at least in my case.

Looks like the pocket is tipped down at the back and is high the front. Seems to be a slit in the leather at the back. If the back of the iron is to low the balls don't hit the downward angle and hit the edge of it instead. Right about where the rip is and pop back out. Try leveling out the pocket and see if that solves the problem....

This might be the problem, I will try leveling them out. Thanks a bunch.:D

This might be part of the problem also, thanks.

Before cutting your blind aprons, make sure you didn't put an end blind on the side by mistake. Typically, the ends are a couple inches longer than the sides and beats me why any manufacturer would make a side that far off.

Mis-match

It looks like the pockets don't fit the table properly... they don't look original. The Aprons do look like they were not installed correctly as previously mentioned. And (IMHO) it sounds like the back of the pockets may be too low and the balls are hitting the back of the pocket and then instead of being deflected down they bounce straight back, hitting either the edge of the slate or some other part of the table before rebounding back onto the playing surface. There is usually enought slop in the pocket bolt holes to loosen them, pull the back of the pocket iron up a little and retighten them. Check the aprons to make sure they are where the should be. You might give it a try and see what happens. Good luck
