Ban safety shots.

We play 10-Ball under WPA rules here in Germany. I can't think of any shot I called a safety on... Just call the most likely pocket to have a ball drop into and you're good.
I do like the option of giving a shot back if you're hooked after missed shot, but I do want to play the obvious safety shots still
 
You could have just posted "I can't kick, jump, or work my way out of a safety to save my life" and this thread would have made more sense.
 
I dont mind saftey play from guys who can shoot. It's the APA3's who cant shoot and get off on playing safeties. I played a guy last week and he thought he was good at safeties. It was obvious he played APA. I got fed up because he couldnt even make an easy ball and get position on the next shot. So he just played safe. I could see the ball but just let him have ball in hand twice. Twice with 4 balls on the table and he could not run out. Smug low ranked players and their safeties. Annoying
 
If you take the safety out of One Pocket you would ruin the game just like you did when you took two shot shoot out away from Nine Ball.
 
Nobody got it right except. CJ WILEY and a few others. That's why no one watches billiards on t.v... No one wants to watch a kicking contest. yawwwwwwn.

I immediately turned the channel when I saw a player in the women's TOC shoot a safety on a very makeable shot. I can shoot a safety a lot easier than attempting a difficult shot. I've played 35 years I can kick and bank with the best of em. Safeties are a part of the game. My point is, who cares how good your defensive game is. whatever. :cool:

Take your great defensive game to beer league and dream on.

I don't like the 3-foul rule but I really don't understand the "no safety shots" mentality. If you're playing a match -- whether it's a tournament, money match, or league -- and you want to win, why would you play a low percentage, offensive shot instead of a high percentage defensive shot?
