Bank pool clarification

I need your help clarifying a situation that happened recently in a short rack of bank pool. A game was on using a short rack in nine ball bank pool and the guy pocketed his bank clean where he called it and the cue ball knocked in another object ball on the follow thru. The argument was on. The other fella said his turn was done and he lost his point for the pocketed bank and both balls had to be spotted. The shooter said his turn was not over, but when he missed on a future shot, then the extra ball would get spotted without being counted. What should happen in this situation??
Thanks,
John

I think the ruling goes like in 1pocket. You make a legitimate shot and score 1 point. Any extra insignificant balls that went down are spotted after the player's inning. (balls made into opponent's pocket in 1pocket aren't respotted though).

From the BCA rule book on bank pool

Illegally pocketed balls

All spotted no penalty. Special Spotting Rule: When in the course of a legal scoring stroke, an additional ball(s) is pocketed, spotting of the ball(s) is delayed until the shooter's inning ends.

When you say 'follow through' do you mean hitting the OB with the tip of his cue?...if so then it seems like a foul to me....BIH behind the line I think in bank pool...

Any time you make a legal bank, you get 1 point. Any additional balls pocketed on a legal shot, are spotted after the inning. It is not a foul. The only fouls that incur ball in hand {always behind the headstring} are a scratch into a pocket or knocking an object ball or cue ball off the table. Fouls for not making a legal hit are just a loss of 1 point.
So in your post, the shooter was right.
Hope this helps, Sam

Thanks everyone for the clarifications. I am glad I asked the right people. Can't wait to get back to our local Billiard's club to share your info.
