You are referring to Mark Tadd's great showing at the 1993 Los Angeles Open. He won the Banks and the Nine Ball, but lost in the One Pocket final to Steve Cook.

That was waaay back when he could shoot the lights out and before he got SPANKED on the tightest table in Chandler, Arizona, baby!

man, a couple of these posts have brought back some memories. this was back near the first day i walked into hard times (93), i saw you (ie jimmy m) and tadd practicing. as usual, the room was pretty quiet, except for on this day, mark was yelling "SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET" about every 3 minutes in a high pitched manner in response to the results of the pool balls. he did this with absolutely no regard for anybody else in the pool hall, and nobody said a thing to him. as many of you know, stuff like this is very hard to get away with at hard times--it usually wont be tolerated. but he sure got away with it. i just figured back then if you play that good you could do whatever the hell you want, and i guess that's true for the most part. sometime after that (forget how long exactly), i saw tadd at the bicycle club trying to match up with efren, it was early in the morning, around 10am, on a weekday, so not too many poeople were there. from what i remember, tadd was having trouble getting even a small spot from efren in any game, mark would have to confirm this however cus it was so long ago. anyways, those were some good memories.
