When I first started playing the game I met a guy from Georgia, Name was Jose' and everyone said he was a champion bank pool player, needless to say I became a student but I moved shortly there after but this guy was great. I watched him beat a guy so bad once, the man gave him his cue, A Balabushka.(real one). I remember he always had a pocket full of money and never turned down a game. I never really knew who he was, other than Jose...

Im seeking banking instruction and I thought I might look him up. Id like to go see the Beard but Chicago is quite a ways from me, did buy the book though!

No, I dont think he plays anymore, this would have been, maybe 15-20 years ago, its been 15 years since I met him (thus the beggining of my pool playing) and he was proboly in his mid to late 50's then. He did play one pocket, I know that for sure.

Maybe you should pvt Freddy B? I'm sure he'd know all the old players, especially bank pool players. He's also good at giving the low down on the man behind the hype, whoever it may be.

Well, you KNOW I was thinking the same thing! Until we see evidence to the contrary, let's assume that there was no ill intent. After all we don't want to have to get nasty, do we?
