Bar Box Break Tips

I normally play on 9 footers but played in a 9 ball tourney on 7 footers last weekend. For the life of me I couldn't control the rock on the break. I was breaking from the box and hitting slightly above center but it seemed like no matter what the cue ball would draw back to the bottom rail (I was breaking head-on). Needless to say I was hooked on that small table a few times and it probably cost me a match (gotta love that no push rule in APA :) .

Can you bar box experts offer any breaking tips?

Thanks...

On a bar box you need to slow your speed down if you are going to center break. Try going a 1/2 or 2/3 break speed and see the difference.

Do you mean "draw back to the Head rail" or the Foot rail???????

Trying hitting the second ball with a draw stroke. I hit them as hard as I can without throwing the cueball off the table. I break that way in the little country one game bar box tournaments. You will sometimes make the 8 in a side pocket. In those tournaments it's a win.
