Bar room felt questions

How long should felt last on a bar box that sees 6-12 hours of play a day,7 days a week?

What is a good, durable, semi-fast cloth Brand I should be looking for?

I'm putting together a proposal to have our local American Legion table recovered and just need some facts to present to the Man Up-stairs to try and loosen the purse strings.

Thanks,

BK

Brunswick makes a decent cloth that is spill resistant. Centinial I think.

As far as durability, I don't know, but the majority of Valley bar tables I shoot on have Simonis 860, and it plays GREAT on them. I love it.

A guy who is a machinist used his machinist level and some shims to level the tables, and they play as true as any bar table I've seen. Again, for a 7' bar table with one piece slate, that is.

Thanks for the replies guys. It's an 8 footer and we have some very good competition through the winter so I want to get this done by the end of August. We get some of the best turnouts around and want to keep the players happy.

I'm searching for someone to service the entire package from cloth to rails to getting the thing dead level. It looks like Simonis 860 is roughly $180-$190 for an 8 footer so I am armed with that info. My guess is I will have to spend $400 to $600 on the installation and leveling so I have some ammo to take to the big-guy.

Thanks,

BK

Unless the table sees "players" only, I wouldn't spend the extra on the 860. You will get worn spots a lot faster.

2 month old 860 on my GC.
Worn Spots
7 Month old Mercury on my Valley.
Worn spots

Can you tell where I break from?

Hard to tell. We have 860 on our bar tables where we shoot out of, and let me tell you there are some of the biggest wingnuts you've ever seen shooting in there, not to mention the people who just frequent the bar. It seems to be in OK condition after a while of use.
