Barbasol good for more than a good shave

Has any one ever heard any thing about using shaving cream to clean a shaft ? Just a small dollop of the white and fluffy kind. I shave with Barbasol in the red and white striped can so thats what i used it worked OK I would say better then a slightly damp towel and I didn't feel like I was putting any moister on my shaft . It evaporates quickly and left a slippery sort of coating when it's gone. any thoughts ? It all so smells good and that can never be bad.

Perhaps through habit you also used after shave lotion.

I mentioned before that STEVE Mizerak used to regularly clean his Bushka shafts with Ronsonol lighter fluid. He raved about it. Who knows maybe he lit it and his game would get on fire. lol

WOW :sorry: Try Magic Eraser , then lightly sand with 600 wet or dry , then burnish with backside of sandpaper or piece of saddle leather ...

Kinda reminds me when someone introduced the idea of hand lotion as hair gel to me. I thought he was a bit of a loon... until I tried it. It works surprisingly well!

Barbasol has lanolin (wool wax) and stearic acid (fatty acid) in it, but I'm not too sure about the triethanolamine or the sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) as things I'd want to be on my cue.

the lighter fluid trick works well, besides the smell (which is not strong by any means) but if you leave it out of the case for a day or so it will dissipate. It works well for stripping off all the old skin oils, chalk, and wax if any was used on the shaft. Its petroleum distillate so its got working action built in to dissolve the gunk. Re-wipe it with a clean paper towel with a dab of fluid on it and then use a fresh paper towel to get the excess off and burnish with a dollar bill, or some leather.

If you take care of your cue properly then NO SANDING is ever needed. I clean the shafts real quick after I'm done playing with just a damp paper towel and then buff hot...if its humid I may do it multiple times through the night. And I wash my hands ever so often.

I may use the lighter fluid once every few months and really don't need it, since i never let anything build up on it during play. I havent polished my shaft in about 4months and its still as slick as the day I conditioned it.
