actualy I agree with you, but only if your using a low deflection shaft, with a standard maple shaft then no. A low deflection shaft has an advantage to an extent, you can stay near the center using small amounts of spin and the cue ball will go straight, where a standard shaft may deflect and cause you to miss. so you pivot, or align parallel where you wouldnt need to with a low deflection shaft. therefore your shots will be straighter and people will give you a bunch of $**t and call you a cheater. whitch you are really cheating the effects of deflection. but this is only up to a certain extent. all shafts deflect. and this is what makes some shots possible, so it is nessasary.
