I clicked the sponsored link on Az forum, and visited the BAT training device web site.

I believe this is based on the aiming system used by many snooker players. In my opinion, Allison Fisher is the perfect player to represent this product. I can see how a student can understand it very well if she explains it in person.

The last part in the instruction about using the tip size (13mm) to estimate a 1/4 ball hit (15mm) is brilliant, in my opinion.

Has anyone tried this yet?

I don't have the actual device they are selling, but the system itself is almost spot on to the 3-line system that has been taught by Hal Houle for years....Including the using the shaft to help measure 1/4 CB

For the 1/4 to edge shot I have always set up through center CB,but used just outside the side of my shaft to aim the 1/4 CB to Edge of OB.

I would not be surprise if the people that developed this device have not spoken to Hal Houle on a few occasions....

Hal just never sold anything he always did it for the price of a phone call....(usually at his expense..he on two occaision had me hang up so he could call me back)

Looks like a good device though for anyone just learning that system. It looks like it may speed up the learning process of the system since there are some shots that seem to deviate from "normal aiming"...such as aiming the 1/4 CB to the edge of the OB while understanding that the cue stick is actually still lined up through the center of the CB..

I have the device and find it to be useful when I am confronted with a shot that is giving me trouble. The plastic that you look thru to see the cut is very clear and easy to see thru.

This thing works and is a very useful aid when practicing a problem shot.

It is designed for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 cut shots so you have to approximate 1/8 cuts. If the device had 1/8 cut lines drawn into it then it would get too crowded to see thru.

i recieved mine the other day and it's pretty much all i could ask for. it tells me exactly how to send the ball to the right spot and is brilliant for quite a few problem shots. it's great to clear up exactly in your mind where to shoot the ball, take away the aiming device and just fire what used to be a problem shot in the pocket!
