BCA, APA or VNEA?

For what it's worth, the APA is my choice. They don't "over charge" for booth space and are nice folks who do their dead level best to push pool forward.

Blud, are you talking about at their national tournaments?

How much do these three organizations charge for booth space?

I play the BCA and VNEA. Those are the only two organizations we have up here in Calgary Canada. From what I have learned of the APA I dont I would ever play in it with the handicap systems they have in place. I have also heard that the competition in the APA is alot worse then it is in the BCA and VNEA. Supposedly the APA is not a league that is built for the better players and when someone gets very good in the APA they will then quit and join one of the other two higher calibre leagues.

IVE PLAYED IN THE APA FOR A YEAR,ITS A DECENT HANDICAP SYSTEM FROM WHAT IVE SEEN.THERE ARE SOME PLAYERS THAT MANIPULATE THE SYSTEM PRETTY GOOD BUT I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT IN EVERY SYSTEM.THE THING I DONT LIKE IS THE PAYOUT,WE FINISHED 2ND IN THE REGULAR SEASON AND 2ND IN THE PLAYOFFS AND ONLY RECIEVED 125.00.THATS PRETTY WEAK,I THINK THEY SHOULD REALIGN THE SYSTEM, AND HAVE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS,WITH ONLY 1 TEAM COMING OUT OF EACH REGIONAL THEN HAVE A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP AT A REVOLVING LOCATION EACH YEAR AND LET THE TEAMS PAY THEIR OWN WAY OR MAKE THE REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP THEIR TRAVEL MONEY.EITHER WAY LESS TEAMS TO VEGAS WOULD MEAN MORE OF A PAYOUT AT THE LOCAL LEVEL.THE APA SPENDS TOO MUCH FOR TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR ALL THESE TEAMS AND HAVING REGIONALS WITH A GOOD PAYOUT WOULD ELIMINATE THE TRAVEL EXPENSES FOR THESE TEAMS,WHEN THEY COULD PUT IT THE LOCAL LEAGUE PAYBACK.I DONT SEE WHY A LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM SHOULDNT GET 500.00 FOR 1ST PLACE IN A LEAGUE WITH 12 TO 15 TEAMS WHEN EACH TEAM IS PLAYING 30.00 A NIGHT TO PLAY.JUST MY 2 CENTS LET ME KNOW WHAT U THINK?

I think they charge $1,250.00 to $1,500.00 for a 10 day event. I am not sure. If you call Laura Wall @ 636-625-8611, and ask for her, she can give you all the details.
rock&roll

every league I ever played in it seemed like you weren't getting much for your money , including apa. unless you make it to vegas, but to get there you have to beat the in state teams that have 3slp's that should be 5 's or 6's

Your right there mick.We sent a team to the annual Dr.cue tournament in Decatur Illinois in April,im a 5 handicap and I played a 3.So its a race 4 to 2 right. This 3 beat me 2 to 0 in 4 innings and I played 2 decent safeties.oh well it happens everywhere.

I have had nothing but good experiences playing in the BCA, and I have attended their North American 8 Ball Championship in Vegas for the last 5 years. I don't know much about the VNEA but I've heard from multiple sources that the APA has a huge sandbagging problem with their handicap system.
