I play on a BCA 8 Ball team. I would like to start a singles tournament on our off nights but I'm not sure how to do this.

I understand the handicap system for the BCA teams but I don't understand how to convert this to individual players. For ex. If you have single player rated as a 7 and he plays a players rated as a 2 - how does this work? Does the 2 player get a handicap of 5 balls??????? This doesn't sound fair so I assume this is not the way to handle the singles tournaments. Please help.
 
Tournament

Do you play round robin or match play? and are there 4 or 5 on the team. Do you have a couple of subs? If so, they can get in on this too.

For your own little tournament:
1) Do a round robin. Each player on your team plays each of the other members.
2) Handicap it a 100%, so everyone has a chance. Yes, a 2 gets 5 points from a 7. A 4 gets 2 points from a 6.
3) Keep everyone's score per game the way the BCA does it.
4) When everyone is done, add all the scores and the handicap points received per match for a final total.
5) The winner will be the one with the most points, or an optional
way is to take the 2 highest and have a playoff, race to 3.
6) Award any prizes and/or money for winning. (like if you each put $5-7 in for entry fee at the beginning, maybe payback 1st & 2nd).

BCA, when I played, is a 15 point scoring:

Player A, a 6, beats Player B, a 4 with score 15-6. Player B gets 2 points, so he actually has 8 points for the game.

Player C, a 4, beats Player D, a 7, with score of 15-7. Player C still gets 3 points handicap, so he really gets 18 points.

It will come out fine in the end.
