The tournaments have started out with a bang, all of the top pro and amateur players from all over the world are slowly coming in. Such players as Brain Groce, Amar Kang and a buss full of road players can be found not only at the Riviera but circling local halls looking for action. Scotch doubles are dukeing it out with the final matches on Tuesday. The open events have now started and the teams will be floundering in as the week starts.
Mark Griffin is making himself available talking with players, League Operators and Presidents. Mark is so overwhelmed with support, that it is hard for him to get past room 205 in the upstairs bleacher area that he has reserved for people to come and ask all the questions they have regarding the sale. Mark will continue to be available to all who are attending the team event, as well as anyone else who has questions. Mr. Griffin has serious plans for the referee program, that includes pay raises and other benefits. All of there points are being covered at the event.
Next years BCA nationals, are going to be like no other. Huge surprises are in store that will be announced shortly.
A now defunct head referee Cecil Messer, is reported to be hiding in a suite somewhere in the Riviera. Mr. Messer and his crew can be found slithering around late at night waiting to prey on unsuspecting players who have no clue to the proceedings of what's going on. A typical move on the part of the ACS crew, move in quick, snap up the bait and start feeding them discolored truths of the BCA.
Messer an avid gambler can't seem to stay away from the casino. With little to no money that the Lewis - Messer org has coming in, we wonder how they will make adjustments as this for the staff and players. How long will it be before someone needs a paycheck? Is it actually possible that Mr. Lewis might be looking in the classifieds soon? Lewis was clearing a $70,000 yearly paycheck from the old BCA and Betty Harris another $40,000. Is this where you would like to see your money go? To support the lifestyle that they have been accustom to? It is important to look into the backgrounds of all the people involved. Ask questions about all of these people and check out their past history. You may find out some very interesting things. Or continue to belong to the BCA with Mark not drawing a salary at all?
A well connected person to the new ACS crew told me, "Messer and Lewis did not have the funds to purchase the BCA so now they are just going to try and steel it." Everyone who was honestly qualified to purchase the BCA were given the materials to peruse, Messer and Lewis are not financially sound to make a purchase of that nature, so they were not given the privy to look at the documents. Messer and Lewis feel that these leagues belong to them, however, they were just employees, AKA, hired help. Sad but true, but some will lie, steal and cheat for what they want. Beware, this new ACS is NOT for the players, it is for the terminated employees and the good ol' boys who are fighting to keep their perks. If their intentions were for the players, then it should continue to run as it has, if it's not broke don't fix it.
This has only turned the world of amateur pool upside down with bewildered players wondering what is going happen and what to do. While you are attending the BCA National Event, please take the time to see Mark Griffin in sky box 205. He will answer all your questions directly.
