Hello folks,
On February 11th we will be starting 8 ball BCA sanctioned league at Edgie's Billiards in Milpitas, CA.
At Edgie's Billiards we'll try a 4 person league but if we do not get enough players we might get it reduced temporarily to 3 person teams.
If the interest is there and if we have enough players we will start also a Scotch Double League. Need at least 6 teams.
I can be contacted at 209-482-7768 and I will email the forms to fill out teams form that needs to be filled out.
Meanwhile we have a temporary website @ Yahoo Groups:

BCA League

Good luck with it. We just finished our tenth season at Family Billiards, SF, and we have built it up to ten teams. A few seasons ago we had only five, and I've been doing BCA leagues since 1992. It's a great system and the Vegas trip is a perfect vacation.

In our league we collect $12 nightly from each player, $48 per team. Out of the $12, $7.50 goes into the trophy/prize fund, $2.50 goes to the house for table time, and $2.00 goes to the NPL for running the show. The NPL also adds $1,000 to the prize fund each season.

At Chalkers the first season (1999) we did 3-player teams, but all the other SF leagues (Hollywood, Great Entertainer, Jillian's) have been 4-player teams on a 20-game grid.

Let me know how it goes!

Sure will. It will not be an easy task but I am giving it a shot! Are you using Leaguesys?

Good luck with your leagues. Please say hello to Tony & Susie for me.

Thanks, Dave Gross

Good luck. I started a 4 person BCA league almost two years ago. It started out small, only 6 teams, but has grown to 10 - 12 teams now. We run three sessions a year. I highly recommend using Leaguesys to report your scores. Its a great system and has several reports it tracks that can be printed very easy. You can also, for a fee, give access to all your players. I don't use the player access because of the fee but it is an option you have.

I am getting the players access to the system. I am in the Silicon Valley and the gang here is really techy.

Not using Leagsys, because my Excel program will continue working until doomsday. When you buy software you open up a library of headaches, upgrades, and all that, and I've been thru it too many times. In 2000 a league member sketched out an Excel program that I've used ever since.

That is awesome! I have been wanting to play BCA for a long time now, but didn't want to drive very far away.
Does BCA also have 9 ball?

Maybe a combo of 8 and 9 ball would be more appealing. This way people can knock out 2 birds with one stone.

The APA LO wanted to get some 8/9 combo leagues going, but couldn't get enough player interest, which is weird. I hear it is popular on the east coast.

Hi Matthew,
I can look into that. I think it is a good idea. I will call BCA tomorrow on that and we'll see what they suggest.
