BCA League rule Question ?

A Little TWISTED !!!!!

My local 8-Ball Bar league has used BCA rules for a few years now. Although I know most rules My question has to do with what is considered an official Run Out.
I broke a Rack and came up dry, nothing made. My opponent shoots and pockets a solid ball but scratchs. With ball in Hand I choose stripes and proceed to pocket all of my 7 balls and then pocket the 8 ball for the Win.
Is this still considered an official Run Out even though I broke first and my opponent shot before I ran the table ???

Any Help is Appreciated

Thanks............Paul

Sorry Paul.

It is a nice run, but not a run out or break and run. The table has to have all 15 balls on the table to be considered a run out, and I believe it has to be your first shot at the table. Either the breaker has to break and run, or the opponent has to run the table with 15 balls after the break. If the breaker breaks and scratches and even pockets one ball, it cannot be a run out.

But what you did is still a WIN:thumbup:

All 15 balls must be on the table on your 1st attempt at the table - including your break.

It really depends on your league rules. We count Run Outs and not Break and Runs in our league.

Our rule is pretty simple, which helps everyone to understand what counts.

Run Out - If at any point you approach the table and the table is "Open", that is you have the choice of picking to shoot solids or stripes, and you run all of one set including the 8 ball you get a Run Out.

We chose this way much for the same reason as BCA got away from Rack for your opponent or calling kisses off balls, and that is to make it simple to determine and less room for arguments.
