I was bored and excited about Vegas so I decided to pull down the master list and calculate all the player participations for each event. Here they are:

I just imported it into my SQL Database and sorted it out. Didn't take very long, but I was always interested to see where the majority of players are coming from.

I think the numbers seem down from previous years.
 
The numbers are almost identical to last year. Last year we had a total of 7100 and change. There are a few entries that are still being entered. It's going to be a great event. Pros coming out our ears with the World Pool Masters, Predator 10 Ball and The Action Report. Something for everyone. Bill Stock, BCAPL

I am surprised at how many people are going from AZ... it seems like everyone I have spoken to lately is NOT going...

AZ is pretty good.

But I think Alaska gets the prize for US states: 20 people coming per for each 100,000 population.

If the whole country participated at that rate, there'd be 60,000 US players playing.

When you hit 65 you can get on Medi Care, and partisipate in the BCA 8-Ball Super Senior Singles.:)
 
So, do these breakdowns account for the same person entered in mutliple events?

Yes the state numbers only include persons 1 time. If they are in 2 events they are not in the state breakdown multiple times. Then in the individual events they obviously are included multiple times, meaning they are in the Open Team and Open Scotch.

After watching the Desert Shootout all week, I'm overly excited for the Vegas events!!!
