Does anyone have any info. about the BCA Referee program. The have an application on their website but no details of what's involved, like how long are the courses, where do you take them, how much they cost, how to get work after becoming a ref. etc, etc, etc.

Dawgie,

If you want to be a state certified referee, you can take their open book test and send it in. I think this may cost $35 to get your certification.

If you want to be a nationally certified referee, you have to take their ref course during BCA Nationals. This course involves class time of 3-4 hrs a day over a 4 day period. Then you have to spend 8 hours on the floor training with a certified ref at a BCA-sanctioned event. This will cost you $125 and you get a zebra shirt.

The BCA does not currently have a Referee progam.

But, the BCA League offers training for local, regional and national referees.
