Seriously considering buying one due to stolen cues. Anybody ever hit with one? How do they play? Please compare to any other cues you can. I like a stiff hit, comparable to a southwest, anyone know if the BCM hits 'em stiff?

Thanks

I have never played with a BCM cue. I emailed a few people asking the same question. The responses I've received so far is "Yes, they are stiff". I can't really compare them to anything because I haven't tried it.

I have one on order right now. While I don't know how his cues play, I have heard they do have a stiff hit and play well. I have one on order right now. Can't wait to be able to play with it.

have you ever tried an andy gilbert, they have a very stiff taper but not hard hit, they have a neutral balance and a very quite hit,it's a hard choice between it or my southwest.

Sorry to hear about your cues.My BCM plays great and is put together well. The shaft with the 12.5/12.75 diameter hits real stiff I only hiy a couple of balls with the 13mm shaft but it isn't as stiff. Bryan uses real hard tips that I had to change to medium before I could do much with it. If you like lesser known makers also check out Pat Diveney's cues.I have a fancy pete that is wicked stiff. Hope this helps some. How can I spot a Zylr if I'm looking at one?I'll keep my eyes out for it.

I've owned a BCM and wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. Bryan makes a quality cue at an affordable price. Plus hes a nice guy to work with. The hit of his cues is supposed to be very similar to a southwest (marketing) but I've never had a south west in my hand to compare the 2.

If you like a stiff hitting cue you can also talk to Mike Webb who is another frequent contributer to this forum.

Now I think my Webb is a stiffer hitting cue than my BCM was, but that has to do with differing tapers etc etc. To each there own.

Good Luck

Thanks guys. I ordered one from Spanky981, so I should have it in about a week.........

Hope it plays as good as it looks!

BCM Cues vs.. ???

The Arizona area has several fine cuebuilders and I have had the opportunity to hit and play with most all of their cues. Although judging a "stiff hit" is very subjective - both the John Madden and the Whisler Cues have a stiffer hit than the BCM. In fact - I thought the hit on the BCM was actually much softer than the Madden's or the Whislers. The hit of both Whislers I have played with (I own a Whisler and a Madden and a BCM) is actually indistinguishable the Southwest hit.

How 'bout Sierra cues?
Or Bill Hagan? One of my favorites.

bcm

I have been watching Bryan improve his cue making abilities for about 10 years...his constructions are solid and the finishing is as good or better than ANY cuemakers'...
He does try to make them have a Southwest style of hit...haven't heard of any problems with any of his cues...
note* I am going to buy 3 BCM's for a raffle giveaways for my grand opening of my NEW poolroom..hopefully to be open about first of March...

I look at the BMC Web-Page all the time, as his Photos deserve an Award for Excellence. I have never seen one of the BCM Cue in person, but if the Hit as Well as they Look. The Prices are fair. ;)
