BCN/On the Net Prices

I didn't see another thread on this but these prices are outrageous. Their charging $70 for the week or $15-$20 for one day. The only way I would pay that much was if someone I knew was in the tournament.

Last year I think it was $30 for the week. That's a reasonable price. I will pay no more than that. Hopefully they have very few viewers this year and are forced to lower their prices.

It's not like I haven't seen every player that will get in the finals or even make the TV tables a million times. It's not worth that much to see it live.

Glad I subscribed to the broadcast when it was only $49.95. It increased to $69.9 after October 13.

I have been busy dry walling, sanding and painting my pool room. I bought it tonight for $14.95. I may do the same thing tomorrow. I won't have more than $35 into it. It beats the hell out of the $1,500 it cost me last year to go. However, I did score 20 large last year.

So far for us, this has been perfect. Picture and sound are great, we have had no problems. Get to golf and come home and watch any missed matches. OMG this is huge, pool for a week for $50.00, I think it was worth it. Hope they keep on improving.

My only real complaint (and it is a minor one) is I would like to be able to skip over parts of the archived matches. I would like to be able to watch the first half of a match if that is all I have time for and then watch the second half of the match later without having to watch the first half again. If I am just missing the way to do that I would appreciate the info.

As far as the price I just compare it to pay per view boxing where you pay $50 or more and you might only get five minutes of action from the main event if there is a first or second round knockout. All of the matches Friday and Saturday are like main events because all the players that are left are great players. While some of the matches from Sunday to Thursday had some lower level players there were still plenty of great matches.

I feel that it was well worth the $50 I spent and if they keep making improvements every year it will be really great in a few years.

I agree 49.95 was a fair deal for those who paid early. I would like to see repeat customers get a better deal than new customers. This would encourage the repeat customers to rebuy every year(to keep getting the discount) AND it would encourage new customers to get on board so they could start saving also.

just my opinion tho

regards,

It is apples and oranges. Watching a boxing PPV that costs $50 means you are watching a card with top calibre boxers and good undercard matches with total purse in excess of $10,000,000 easily. This is nothing like watching a pool tournament with a $500 entry fee and a 1st place prize well under 6 digits. I would be happy to pay $70+ for PPV of a pool tournament with huge purses that bring in all the top calibre players in the world and seeing them do battle for huge money. If you are instead trying to sell a pool tournament PPV with a prize the size of the US Open and missing a huge number of the top calibre players in the world such as Chou, Kou, Wu, Vandenberg, ect... then you scale the price of the PPV down accordingly.

If they had charged $10/day or $29.95 for the entire event they would have ended up making alot more money. There is a balance point where the number of people who buy a product at a certain price point produces the maximum net profit, economics 101, they need to figure it out. They are charging way too much and getting far less total money then if they had sold it cheaper and gotten far more people signing up.

agreed

SAME HERE, AGREED!!!!!!!!

Their charging $70 for the week or $15-$20 for one day.
-And as you can see the majority of the viewers paid the 50 bux. bet they had VERY FEW 70 dollar purchases.
