Becue butt question

Have a customer that wants the joint changed on a Becue rebel CF butt. My question is, is the joint pin and SS ring all one piece? It looks to be, and if so, I will tell the customer I pass on this job. The Becue website has no info that helps.
Thanks,
Dave

It doesn't look one piece from the photos, there is too much undercut on the stainless collar and it wouldn't make much sense from a manufacturing stance. I wouldn't be surprised if the pin screws into the collar with an alignment dowel end. If so, they may have used green loctite and never intended for it to be removed. If that is the case, it will take a substantial temperature to break the bond.

Obviously I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. To much could go wrong and could destroy an overpriced plastic cue.

Hi Dave
I wonder if the Maker took a page out of John Robinsons book and threaded that washer on to the joint screw.

I have been waiting to see if you weighed in, as I figure, if anyone knew the answer it would be you.....
I will be doing a HARD pass on this one. Using my zoom on my phone camera and very fine dental picks....the pin and the joint facing seem to be one....so it's a no-go for me.

I haven't seen one of those Cues in person yet.
What kind of joint screw is it?
Passing is a good move.

Btw
I..... would pass on doing this too. I have become very cautious when it comes to anything c/f construction.

I've never swapped a pin on a BE cue, but I have worked on their shafts and there's some "creative" solutions there I did not expect, so I would assume the same is true for the butt. I would definitely pass.

Can't really see the whole thing, but it does not look possible to have made that thread full depth to the shoulder and under, without bumping into the flat face, whether live tool or stick tool. IOW, I agree probably 2 piece. Also probably bonded as has been mentioned

So it certainly looks like something to run from, and don't look back. Unless the factory has a clearly specified service procedure.
