Yes but <not missing> is a given - so now among your high priority options are run maintenance ie high percentage pocket and position. I'd go as far as to say every pool shot has to be cinched. (not just Proone lol) What is the antonym of cinch? All pool alternatives in that direction start at estimation - technically guessing and continue through clueless flailing.
During an interview between rounds at a major, the leader was asked how come his putting was so hot.
He said that it was how accurate his ball path was, it was predictable.
Knowing where the ball was going meant he could switch all of his focus onto the pace of the putt.
Pool shots also have two elements, pocketing the object ball and moving the cue ball into position for the next shot.
The idea of cinching relates to the golfer being able to bring all his focus down to only one element, here 100% of focus being on pocketing only.
Anything else should go by a different label.
 
I use variations of the same snooker stroke for every shot. Always have whether playing pool or snooker. Almost robotic.

I have nothing against the jab stroke, I just don’t need it. Tor Lowry has a good lesson on YouTube using the jab stroke. It might help depending on one’s style of playing.

When was the last time you had a 14 foot shot where you had to account for a 2 foot break at hole weight but only a 1 foot 8½ inch break if your pace is a foot and a half past the hole?
The point was there is a difference between juggling two variables and being able to focus on only one.

Same here... I'm proud of my snooker born stroke. That said, I do find myself in need of a jab from time to time playing 14.1

While I don't play for such tight shape. It's easy to stumble into options that have extremely close OB-CB proximity.

Dell Hill, Ronnie’s mentor talked about the pendulum stroke commonly used in snooker as being like chickens pecking.
What he was talking about was how the action, when the 4 point contact snooker stance is used, ends up with the thumb abruptly stopping at the chest and rebounding, with the tip looking like a pecking motion.
There is a use for how that works on some of these short shots.
Setting up with your desired bridge length, the cueing hand can be brought into the stop position at the chest.
From there a simple flip and catch of the butt allows the shooter to reposition the grip at a chosen length from the stop position.
A two inch regrip, when stroked into the chest, limits the follow through to 2 inches.
The grip is preset towards a downwards through flex position holding the cue on plane through impact.
I use it on fairly straight shots of a shorter nature.
As the balls get closer together higher view above the balls let’s me see the contact points together visually and I tend to use the larger muscles in the arm to move the cue in a more controlled way still keeping the wrist preset.
From above lifted away from the safety of the chest stop you need to create another way to push through positively yet constrain the follow through.
