Beginner player looking for some insight

For me watching Mike Sigel and Thorsten Hohhman helped a lot. Both are amazing at finding the patterns with the least amount of risk.

I remember having troubles getting through the first rack until I really started to see the end patterns when there's 6-8 balls left.

Hey, I watched your videos and there are several things you could do immediately to improve your position play.
I am a diehard straight pool player having grown up in NJ with the likes of Miz, Allen Hopkins, Jack Colavita, Ray Martin Etc.
I have a high run of over 200 and love to help people learn the game. The first I would do is get a copy of Mastering Pool by Fels and the 99
critical shots by Ray Martin. Then, if you would discuss your position play you are welcome to contact me and we can discuss it on the phone.
That would be more beneficial to you that reading some blurp here on AZ.
