Hello my name is Dean and i am a American living abroad. I have lived in Thailand for the past seven years. I have been a carom billiard player most of my adult life.

Since moving to Thailand I purchased an 8 foot carom billiard table. Although a normal match billiard table is ten foot I really enjoy playing on the 8 foot table.

In Thailand the main game is Snooker. I have been avoiding playing snooker until just recently. I started playing snooker and just potting straight in shots using my carom cue. I realized I needed help in my fundamentals. I have been watching videos by a gentleman named Barry Stark. His videos have helped a lot.

The carom cue I have been using is just over 55 inches in length, has a conical taper, and ends with a 11mm tip.
I now am thinking of purchasing a 3/4 snooker cue manufactured here in Thailand. Snooker is a wonderful game and there are plenty of clubs here in Thailand.

Indeed snooker is a great game and carom (especially three cushion) is a great foundation, you'll have your opponents tied in knots with safety play. Barry Stark has great tutorials of the basics. I also like break_from_life and some others. But snooker is like anything else, you've got to put in the practice to get better at it. So as Barry would say: "good luck with your practice!"
