Advice to young players:
“Sana lagi niyong maisip kung ano ang dahilan bakit ninyo pinangarap
maging magaling sa larangan na ito. At kapag dumating na kayo sa punto
na nandoon na kayo, sana hindi pumasok sa isip niyo na pera pera na lang
ang larong ito. Dahil una sa lahat, hindi ninyo inumpisahan o pinangarap
makarating sa pwesto na yun ng dahil lang sa pera.”

“I hope you will always keep in your heart the reason why you dreamed
of being good in this sport. And if ever you do reach that point,
I hope that you will not treat billiards as just a cash cow of sort.
You didn’t start playing or dreamed of becoming a champion because of money!
The sport isn’t just about money. It is definitely more than that!”

.
Message to all billiard fans:
“Maraming, maraming salamat po sa pag suporta ninyo! Sana po ay patuloy
natin suportahan ang larong ito!”

“Thank you very much for your unwavering support! I hope and pray
that you continue to love and support billiards.”

.
For those not in the know, Champ Johann co-owns the Cue Spot Billiard Lounge
in Manila. It is my favorite pool hall in the Manila area. And I kid you not!
At Cue Spot, the 2x All Japan Champion racks, sets, and takes care
of the pool players and their needs. Personally. 👊

.
And for friends wishing to know more, I believe my friend, Mr. Jay Helfert,
a veteran of the billiards industry and one of my favorite TV commentators
and writers, said it best:

“Johann Chua - Classy young man with a beautiful game. I knew he was special
the first time I ever saw him play about five years ago. I loved the way
he paced himself and how smooth he was in all his actions.
He was in control of himself and his game, unusual for such a young man."

.
To win the All Japan Championship is a great achievement.
To win it twice is AWESOME!
We wish you continued success in your career, Champ Johann!

We are very proud of you! Mabuhay!

I spent the entire week this year watching the US Open 9 ball in VA.

I heard this comment a few times, when some of the pros realized

Ya mean????

if ''I win I get to break again?".

My first four days were spent watching all three early rounds and all three late PM rounds. 14 hr days then about 6 hrs a day the last few days.

Kaci caught my eye. Had to watch Chang. Filler was hitting balls fuller and more in the middle than the rest, but the match on the tv table when J.C. played Rodney, made me appreciate this mans play style. He stuck out, from the entire crowd with his Earl like pocketing ability. He shot a shot with draw, that he hit as pure as Rempe ever did in his prime. Had the power of Sigel and the zip of Strickland. From then on, even tho Rodney won that match, I watched the kid. Very, very little rattle in em. If he wants to play like Buddy Hall, he'll have to smooth out and slightly minimize arm movements.
But he's young and has got the right attitude.

Thx for the writeup, the below copy/paste says it all.
