This is a "no masters" 8-ball tournament that features a race to 5, no handicaps, big calcutta and only a $35 entry fee.

We have set a hard limit of 96 players. All regular events are $1000 added based on 64 players. We have filled the first five no master events so the added money was actually $1500! It is highly recommended to pay your entry fee in advance to guarantee a spot.

The tournament is played on 14 Diamond 7' tables with "pro cut" pockets, Simonis 860HR cloth and Super Aramith Pro balls.

The Carom Room also has extra tables for practice/action, good food and plenty of parking.

Started going fast so I started this thread a few days early to try & give everyone a fair chance at the last "no masters" event before the finals.

Anyone going to Oconomowoc for the Olympia Open can sign up with Dave Coles or myself at the tournament location. You can also sign up early for any of the finals events as well to secure your spot.
 
Are there any weekly tournaments or cheap action in the area on Friday nights? I am heading up on the 22nd and will be looking to play some $50 sets of 8/9/10 ball or $20 one pocket.

The Carom Room has a weekly tourney on Thursday evening. The break n run pot is huge!! If you're looking only on Friday then you can often find cheap action at the Carom Room. If you want a tourney then you'll have to go south to Rockford at the Rockford Billiard Cafe where they have a tourney around 7 pm on Friday.

I was thinking about coming for the Thursday tournament, what time does that start?
 
7:30 sharp... Buy your tickets earlier and then the drawing is right at 7:30. The tourney matches are called as soon as the break n run attempt is over.
 
Okay, the mail is in and we now have 55 paid entries.

If we receive extra entries beyond 96 they will go on the waiting list. We will run a small tourney (with added money) on the 9' tables if we have enough players who did not get in the main event. The last "no master" tourney we used 9 players off of the waiting list.

If you plan on playing on the 23rd then I would absolutely get your $35 money order in the mail to the Carom Room ASAP!!

55 Players 2 weeks before the tournament! Looking forward to another great tournament in Beloit. I just hope the roads are better than last year when it took me 7 hours to get there from Des Moines!

Updated with the mail from today. Down to 31 open tourney spots. Get 'em while you still can!!


We will be opening the "no master" finals to 128 players. The 23rd is the last chance to qualify for the finals.

Down to 29 spots now with just over a week to go. I don't expect them to last too much longer.


The extended forecast looks outstanding for January. Much of the snow melting away and temps in the 30's!! Could be some light snow headed this way around Fri/Sat of next week.

Big table tourney if we have enough extra players (can't be in both tourneys). We will try to keep everybody busy ;)
 
Picked up a few more entries at the tournament today. Down to 9 guaranteed spots before the waiting list starts. I would expect 5 or more to not make the tourney so don't fret too much if you fall on the waiting list...
