Ben Cooper has passed

Ben Cooper, cue maker from Mt. Pleasant SC, passed early this morning in his sleep after a 2+ year struggle with lung cancer. I do not have many details but I am sure many players in the southeast have met him and thought I would pass along the news.

Sad news

I had bought 2 cues from Ben Cooper a few years back. Talked with him a few times as well. Sorry to hear about his passing.

I met Ben many years ago when he was working with Whitey Spach at Hurricane Cues out of the old Bees Knees poolroom in Mount Pleasant. He was always there joking around and you could tell that he enjoyed making cues.

This is sad news. My condolences to his family and friends.

Ben was a friend of mine and i'm sorry to find out he's gone. I have a jump/break cue that I built in James Spach's (Whitey) shop a couple of years ago and Ben gave me tips on how to do it while I was learning how to put it together. He was a likable guy and was always joking with people. He loved to play one pocket and I played many games with him.

He had a lot of friends and he'll be missed......
