I have been playing with a shaft from a cuemaker that uses a Bender style taper. I just bought a new cue with what I guess is a standard pro taper. The new shaft just does not feel right to me. I took it to my local cuesmith and and having him cut it using the Bender taper that I have grown accustomed to.
In addition to my just being used to it, it seems that this taper is superior to the standard pro taper. It stays thinner longer than the pro taper, so I would think that it would be a bit more consistent in feel during the stroke process. But then again, maybe it's just in my mind. Either way, the bender taper is for me. Anyone else like it as well?
