Bergman's Break

Anybody else notice how much Justin's break has improved?

Teacherman can probably attest to this the best but Justin's break has widely been considered his weak point and I've heard he spent alot of time this year working on it. Anyway, he had one of the most solid breaks at the Mosconi Cup.

If he really has improved his break then I fully expect him to overtake Shane within 2 years in FargoRates. Looking forward to a wonderful 2016 full of pool.

Theres a worlds of a difference with 9b vs 10b break. The 10b break is where Shane's break really outshines nearly everyone.

Bergman had the most breaking success of all 10 players this year. He was dry on only 1 of his 16 breaks (his first break of the event), and he (or he and his partner) were able to run out 9 (60%) of his 15 successful breaks -- http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=5389200&postcount=19

I think it is hard to gauge how much Justin has/has not improved on his break because while his percentages look better on paper obviously, his break didn't seem to be repeatable/consistent. In other words, he wasn't making the wing or the one consistently in a way that made me think he was controlling the break. It kind of reminded me of his match against Shaw, his break and run percentages were pretty good, but he didn't seem to be repeating and controlling the cue/one ball the way that most really great 10 ball breakers do. It almost seems like he hits them square and takes what the table gives him, he just shoots so good that he usually does something awesome anytime he is at the table. When I think about a really great break I'm thinking about someone who is strategic, consistent, and reproducible.
