Jimmycue,
Sorry about your loss of wood to Bert.
Sometime when people get sick and old, they don't do things they would normally do.
I bought a cue from Raist, one of our dear deceased members, it was a Titlist, one of the very last cues Bert worked on. It was supposed to be a fairly quick conversion that wasn't supposed to take to long. Well it took Bert over three years and had to finally be completed by Jim Buss.
I don't think Bert had any intention of screwing you - I truly think he probably didn't remember what he was supposed to do in your situation.
Bert was a wonderful cue maker and a true master of the craft. He gave the pool world cues that were truly wonderful in their design and build. We are lucky to have been blessed by such a presence.
Like I said - I am sorry that you didn't get the cue you were hoping for from Bert, but I'm sure it was through no fault of Bert.
Glad you did get cue though, I'm sure the maker didn't really make it because he thought you got screwed by Bert, bet rather he loved Bert.
So in my humble opinion - No, Bert was not a crook ~!!!
