bert schrager

Bert made great cues! I would tell your friend to hold onto the cue unless he is in a money crunch. Bert no longer makes cues and the last I heard he is in bad health. If you could post some pictures on here it would help to get a quote, but be careful some will try to make a good deal for themselves. Their are a few cue makers and collectors on here that will make an legitimate offer. But as I said I would hold on to it and go to one of the big trade shows and try and sell it there!

anyone heard of him and are his sticks worth anything have a freind looking to sell his

Bert passed away in February. He had retired from cue making.

His cues have pretty decent values. Why don't you post a pic and we can give you some estimates.

And, we have a guy with a Viking in another thread who has been told he has a $2000 cue. Not. Your friend's cue is probably worth a lot more than the Viking, I've heard of Bert for about 35 years, roughly, and he had a great reputation for quality.

A team mate of mine has one and it was appraised around 8k about a year ago! His cues were not cheap and after he retired they went up in value. I was not aware of his death in February(RIP), so I would think the value will increase on his cues.

poolhustler let me know if you did not get the email with the pictures of the stick

Chris, not to make light joke of Mr Schrager's passing but doesn't condition #1 (pass away) automatically cover condition #2 (retired from cue making)? :-)

Bert got real sick and went into a Convalescent Hospital in 2006. He stopped making cues just prior to that. He rehabbed himsef, got out of the hospital and started making cues again.

His health continued to degrade over the last 4-5 years.

He will be missed!!

Not really. George Balabushka continued to make cues long after his passing. In fact, he became much more productive once dead.

Chris

Ps. No, I meant he had already retired from cue making before passing away.

I have one of those *rare* signed Balabushka cue!!! I'm banking my retirement on this cue!!!
