Best Billiard Balls

I'm thinking of getting my own set of billiard balls. I like to primarily play rotation: 9-ball / 10-ball.
I am not super rich. But I want a very good set of billiard balls. I don't want to be disappointed, either.
Any recommendations? Best bang for the buck? What do some of these top tier tournaments use?
Thanks.

The Dynaspheres Bronze set is the best value in pool. A high quality phenolic set for a little over $100. I have 16 sets of balls and the Dynaspheres stack up against any of the offerings from Aramith.

The Tournaments I’ve played in are using either TV Tournament set or standard Tournament set. I’ve watched a few using the Black Tournament set.

Take a look at Dynasphere Bronze. Around $100 and they're excellent balls, play as well as my $400 Centennials.

And buy them while you can. These are to be replaced by the Vanadium set which will run at least 100bux more.

Those are the best ball set for the money, it’s not even a fair competition. I’d buy that set and the Arcos2 cue ball, perfect combination.

My advice may be opposite to most as to a recommendation. At home I have Aramith premiums, and a set of Aramith Tournament Duramith's.
Like them both a lot, but most always play with the premiums as I feel they play the most like what we play in our two leagues. I tend to clean them about every two weeks and as we have leagues on Monday and Wednesday's, I won't clean them till after Wednesdays league as their play most resembles what we have in league being a little dirty. If company comes over to play, I will usually bring out the Duramith's and make sure they are freshly cleaned. So, I guess if you play on leagues, my advice would be to get something like Aramith Premium's, there are better balls out there, but they are really a great set at a reasonable price.
If you just want the best set for the bucks, you can't go wrong with the Dynasphere set mentioned

I also have the dynasphere brand and it’s as good as Aramith Duramith resin, and better than their Super Pro resin. They have an even cheaper set for about $70 called Tungsten. I like the colors on it, but I might be the only one:)

Before using your new set at the pool hall, inspect the balls there. If they are full of craters, that means there are metal nails in the pockets, and your new set will also get craters.

I agree with the previous posters ,Dynaspheres definitely are the best price wise.
My favorite newer set gotta be the Predator arcos 2 , they weigh the same as the brunswick centennials & a few other higher level aramith sets .
Where the the dynaspheres tend to weigh a couple points of a gram more. If you frequent pool hall tourneys your more likely to encounter aramith style/ weight, being Dynspheres is relatively new to the scene.

You will NEVER notice a weight diff of 1-2gr's. I'll let you hit 'em back-to-back and bet you can't pick the heavier one.

Really? My data suggests otherwise. The Dynaspheres are also the most consistent in terms of weight across a set.

@garczar What may be true for 1 person isnt necessarily the truth for another person.
I for 1 can tell just by holding them in my hand.

I personally like to practice with the exact equipment the tournament will be using,
Which is why I suggested that.

I literally just weighed them prior posting, because I know theres alot of ppl here who are nits who speak hypothetically as opposed to factually ( Im* not referring to you Rexus).

The set of dynaspheres I own are the platinum and bronze both weigh consistently roughly 2 to 3 grams more than the centinialls , arcos, and super aramith balls. The cue balls how ever in all sets weigh more than the object balls.

Intersting. I'm curious to see the deviation vs my sets

I use Dynasphere Palladiums and like them a lot. Sound good, feel good, look good.
Got them second hand for cheap enough. Would never by them new.
Purchased them to use at the hall I practice at, as otherwise it's hit and miss that you'll get clean balls (20+ tables and sometimes really high traffic of players as it is next to a busy metro line)

Agree with the above, and was going to get some bronze, but the price on these was too good to pass. Could probably sell them on for more than I paid.

I've weighed dozens of the Dynashperes, and they are VERY consistent, and within a gram or two of all the other premium sets I've tested.
They absolutely can't be beat for the $$, and it's debatable if they can be beat for quality.

Seriously, you can feel a 1.2% difference (based on 2g variance and a baseline weight of 169g)?

Wow, impressive.

@dquarasr

I can definitely tell roughly a 2gram difference. Keep in mind none of my cue butts exceed the weight of 12.5 oz, with shaft it totals 16.5 weight at most.
Soft or med tips on all shafts I own,,
Feel and finesse is a big part of my game.
