I'm using a first generation x-breaker right now and love it, best I've had. The tip is even harder than phenolic, but still grips the ball so well you can easily use it as your playing cue and not have a single miscue all evening, jumps are rediculous. It does have quite alot of deflection like most of the j/b's except for the Predators and such.
Other jump/breaks I've owned:
Longoni (average jump/breaker, good player)
Bear (best leather tip breaker I've had)
J&J (best bang for the buck)
I always used to use a separate no-name phenolic tip jump-stick, that outperformed everything but the x-breaker for jumping.
