best cheap cue / butt for LD shaft

So eventually I want to try out an OB-2 Shaft and my current cue doesn't have the right pin. So I am looking for a cheap cue or even just a butt with a standard pin (preferably radial) so I can use a LD shaft. I would prefer a wrap on it, and for it to look decent (no horrible colors, plain wood would actually be good) but overlays are fine, as long as it isn't ugly.

Are there many differences between cue butts? The only thing I can think of is overall weight, balance point, pin, joint. How much do these play a role and what is the cheapest standard cue that has good butt qualities, ignoring the shaft.

You should be able to get a McDermott cue for about $80 with a big 3/8x10 pin.

What joint does your current cue have? OB shafts can be made to fit anything, including cuetec. I would just order the one corresponding to your cue.

Fury speed lock joint.. costs extra to get it made for it, also limits me of I decided to get a different butt or shaft. i'd prefer a standard pin also because I am a poor college student and would probably try to get one second hand.

i am all about performance / price over looks and a sneaky pete seems to be held in high remarks there except I like a wrap. do any custom makers just make quality butts to save me some money? or do people sell only butts?
