Best Cue Butts for Break Cues

I've been trying for some time to purchase a BK Rush (REVO) Break cue new or used without luck and it looks like I'll just have to wait (3 months probably) if I'm set on getting one of those for a reasonable price. There are dealers out there that have 29 and 30" BK Rush break shafts that I can get fairly quickly, and I'm seriously contemplating purchase of one and using it with my current break cue butt (McDermott and I have an adapter to uniloc), or of purchasing a break cue butt (not Predator BK Rush REVO break, but possibly a different Predator break cue butt) to use with the BK REVO shaft. It seems that opinions are split regarding how much difference the butt of a break cue will make. So, I'd appreciate what you folks have tried and what you think regarding this. How different will it be depending on the butt? What kind of butt would yield the best results? Any other thoughts on the matter? Thanks for any opinions/help you provide.

it really doesn't matter and just should feel good for you.
Some like light break cues, some heavy, some forward balanced, some backward balanced.
I don't think that the butt technology of the Predator break cue changed since the BK2 and they are all C4 butts (4 pieces radial laminated which is just the same for most of the Predator cues). they just have different decals and different sport grip color and design.
If the Revo break shaft weighs around 4oz, I would look for a butt that is under 14oz that can take weight bolts in case you want it heavier so you can test and find what works best for you.

I would not use an adapter or mid extension to Frankenstein a break cue. If you don't want to wait 3 months I would say pretty much any Predator butt except for a 4 point SP is what you want. IMO 4 point SP butts have a softer hit than the C4+, 4-Piece, 30-Piece butts. I also think an adapter will make the hit soft.

Your cheapest options are probably a Predator Sport 2 butt $240 or a PoolDawg Uniloc butt only for $90. https://www.pooldawg.com/no-brand-nb01-uniloc-cue-butt-only-no-wrap

I am not sure how hard you are looking but Predator just listed new stock of the BK Rush on 9/12. If you were on a list and they didn't call you than I am skeptical of whatever 3 month promise they gave you.

I have a BK rush, It's a decent cue. Does it play any better then the 20 year break cue i just retired? Not really. The adjustable weight was nice. You can kinda tweak the balance point a bit. Is it worth $800+ NO

I had a Gulyassy Sledge Hammer. Mike had some special coating on the shaft. Don't remember what it was called but it was extremely smooth. Wish I still had it. I think the shaft, tip and ferule have a far bigger impact on the outcome of a hard break than the butt does.

It's funny i had one of them cue many years ago. I got one just before McDermott bought the rights to sell the cue. They are still selling the cue with some modifications. The orginal cue the tip/ferrule was an all in one combo. Today it's furrule and tip

Bad thing is I don't remember what pool hall I left it at.

I essentially fully rotated out my BKRush. I didn't like the sport grip (it's too tacky and fat for my taste) so I started putting the BK shaft on a Roadline I couldn't get balanced in a way liked for play. I switched to a 30" Revo 12.9 with a Kamui SAI Control Break tip and have been using that for about a year. (Wanted the same length/feel as my playing shafts)
The Rush sits in the rack now.
