Best items you can purchase to increase your game? Consistant wise, any aspect wise

It seems to me you are spending a lot of money to try and learn what most of us old timers learned with a House cue and Ten Cent a rack. IMHO It is time to STOP BUYING and just play the game. All the fancy stuff in the world won't help your game. It is time to stop blaming the equipment and learn to play. Pick ONE Playing Cue and stick with it.

Thanks but I have money to spend, and this is an activity I like doing so I'll buy stuff to make it more enjoyable.

I am practicing everyday and have access to one of the best instructors, so now I am going to gear up and make sure I have the newer technology in my cue so I learn with the best.

Did I ever once blame the equipment? No.. I don't expect to even notice a increase in a predator shaft right away, I actually expect to play worse, but in the long run from the information I have gathered this is a good decision.

Why would I pick one cue when I can own 5 and enjoy all of them?

Good job ball banger, keep trying to stop the flow of money from new players into the Pool economy, then later when you post a thread "THIS IS WHY POOL IS DEAD" think back to this post of yours.

anyways after paying what I did for my table I am not worried much about the cost of a $200 shaft and $200 ball set and some other stuff that I may want to purchase with my money.

OK So you are a Trust Fund Baby and have disposable income and want boost the Gross National Product. Why not get a hand truck so it is easier to carry your Cue Case into the Pool Hall? But someone who puts their money into Lessons and Drill Practice is going to whip your fancy equipment from off the wall. I have 9 Cue sticks but only play regular with one playing cue. I know that cue and how it hits. I am more consistent because I don't change Cue Sticks. It is bad enough that each table plays different. I don't need to throw in other variables.

First thing I would say is get lessons from a qualified instructor (not only the guys from the BCA). There are lots of good instructors out there and there are more bad ones.

I would buy (in the game you like) Accu-Stats tapes/DVDs.

I would then say a good starter cue.

When you really want to start pushing it, a BrakRack is a great tool.

I would then suggest a good custom cue, like a Webb cue (I have a playing and break cu from Mr. Mike Webb and love them both).

I would also add that a lesson or two from Scott Lee/Randy G, Our own Black Jack, Joe Tucker, and Tom Mcgonagle, would be very helpful for anyone.

And I would say Perfect aim is another thing to add to the list of stuff to have.

Just my thoughts...

I'd avoid a hard tip. Just from personal experience I find a medium tip makes it easier to get cue ball action as it does compress more. Layered tips are nice because they keep there shape well. Lessons are definately your best bet as you mentioned that is what you are doing. Maybe invest in the P.A.T. books/dvds. They have a lot of good drills to try out. Predator does make some great low deflection cues that I know have helped my game a bit. Depending what level you are at and what game you are playing keeping your pattern play as simple as possible is a good key to success. Take time to follow through on all your shots and be aware of your fundamentals and stance. Keep shooting:)

Buy your own table. Alot of really good players i have encountered have had a home table at one point in time.

Avoid the bar tables if possible. The pockets are too forgiving. If it is all that is available though then it is better than nothing.
