Best Leather Break Tip?

Hi, I was wondering what your opinions are about which leather break tip is the best.

I have a samsara j/b tip on my break cue, but for 10-ball I actually feel like I have better control breaking with my playing cue with a leather tip.

So, I am thinking to change the tip, any suggestions?

Thanks

a pressed triangle or lepro would do the job just fine. or a kamui hard tip if you want to spend the money on a layered.

I'm using a Samsara...no complaints here, try a talisman double xx

Odega tips

Get a hold of Wade with Odega tips in Fargo, ND he is on here. They are the best and he knows Samsara tips first hand, so he can tell you the differences.

Send a PM to Odega on here

he's already stated that he has a samsara and is looking for suggestions for something different. read his post.

OTB just commented that he had no complaints using a Samsara. He then proceeded to make a suggestion for something different when he recommended trying the Talisman Double XX. READ HIS POST.

For what it's worth, I also break with a Samsara tip and I really love it. Have you tried shaping it to the radius of a dime? Perhaps that will give you the control you are searching for. I have also heard many good things about Kamui Black Hard Tips being used on break cues.

My suggestion is to have a dedicated break cue. That way you can have the tip you like for breaking without sacrificing jumping performance. A pressed black water buffalo works nicely.

Pressed LePro

I started pressing my own LePro tips and am tickled with them. Solid, holds chalk well and mushrooming is a thing of the past. I also feel like I have better control with a leather tip than with the others I have tried.

Have you try a single layer break by Madman tip? try it you may like it.....

My J/B has a Big Boy leather tip on it. I'm not sure where to get more from since it came stock from McDermott, but I love it.

Kamui Hard vs Samsura

Tried a Kamui Hard on my break cue and then went to a Samsara and never looked back. No comparison. My break cue does have a phoenalic ferrule.

That's the best break tip I've ever had....
..a 15mm LePro pressed for 4 days in a heavy duty vice....
...trimmed to 12.75.

I've tried an original hard Moori, not as good as the LePro.

I think the non-leather tips hurt your break also.
A great break still has to be a sweet hit..a tip that hits like a stone makes
it impossible to hit it sweet.

I'll vouch for Juan's Tips

I've had one of his 11 layer, jump/break tips on my Jerico Thumper for about a year now and it's great. I can almost break as hard as I did with the original phenolic tip that was on there, but I have much better control. I looks friggin' great to boot; the sides are as black and shiny as the day it came off the lathe (I know, I know, bash me for worrying about appearances).

Juan's a great guy to deal with, too, and his tips are a good value proposition.
