Best non-diamond home 7ft table

I have had a

Beach Manufacturing Dolphin table for 24 years and it plays great! Your wife sounded like mine back then as my table is also in our family room. We've had many compliments on its unique appearance but more importantly it plays great! My pockets are cut more like a Gold Crown than a Diamond and the side pockets accept a hard hit ball from a severe angle. My quality leather drop pockets hold 10 balls (I've never had one "pop" out). I don't know what may have changed in 24 years but it would serve you well to take a look at this brand. I've included a link to them. Good luck finding your table

Olhausen or Brunswick would prob be your best bet. I grew up with an Olhausen 7ft table at home and owned an 8ft Olhausen for many years. Hours upon hours of enjoyment and never had any issues with the equipment. Count your blessings for the ability to have a home table.

I've played on a couple Conley tables that didn't play too bad...I certainly wouldn't compare them to a Diamond though...

Edit: one thing I really liked about one of the Conleys I played on was it had 2" slate...the table was solid and quiet!

You might look into the Gabriels Signature Pro. I'm not sure if they still make them, or who the U.S. distributor is, but they're generally considered to be high quality tables. I strongly considered one ~5 years ago but ended up with a 7' Pro Am.

FWIW, here's a link to one that was for sale on AZ a few years ago. No affiliation, it just has a few pictures that may be of interest. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=345191&highlight=gabriels
