You said ALL TIME. That is what makes you an immature, closed minded child. You wont listen to the people who have seen them both play. Or more over, PLAYED both of them.

You might know one of my old road buddies in Indiana, Steve Oaks. He was a top 10 player back in the 70s. Look him up. Have him tell ya. Ask Brian Groce. You are simply WRONG on this and refuse to admit defeat.

Grow up.

Is that your answer to my question, hemi? Would you put your money on any woman player right now against Allison? Its impossible to rate anyone today against someone of yesterday. Just answer the question.

As for me growing up. Im already a man, in my late 20's, and I am in no hurry to be an old man like you. Please dont rush me. LOL

This is just like all other Dream match up"s. Mike tyson-ali- dempsey- Louis. I myself try to come up with the winner but there can never be a sure winner because you never know what would have happend. As for Jean and allison this would be a very good match IMO. I think In a long race of nine ball Both ladies in their prime I would give hean the edge, She had the better break so i think she would win it would be a good match though

Jean beat hall of famer male players in their primes.
Allison got robbed by Cliff Joyner with a huge spot.
Nuff said. Move on. Jean was so good she got bored. lol

I have a hard time believing that any woman could be better than allison, maybe karen corr, but other than that no. I know nothing of jean, so there is a generation gap, someone was saying jean was like the billie jean king of women's pool, well how long ago was that? Hasn't the game evolved since then, and isn't allison another billie jean king in a tougher era in a more competitive more evolved game. Allison has beaten some of the best male players in the past, we're talking about pool, saying she can never beat any of the top 100 men is a false statement, she can beat anyone of them. Have u not watched her play b4 or what? She excels at shooting push out shots like no one i have seen, she plays awesome safes and kicks at balls as good as any man on the planet, I have seen her pocket more kick shots than any man. And saying it would hurt her game by switching equipment to smaller pockets? Hell, why not just play on a snooker table then? lmao

karen korr. ...

and it might be difficult to match players up in 9ball,,,but you certainly can compare them in 14.1

Johnson,

Your question is valid. You might also look at a phenomenon that occurs each year at the Sands Regency Opens. Look at the results for the last four years since the equipment was changed. First, there is no repeat winner. Second, check the winners names against the "best" in the game. The tables do matter. The Diamond Pro's at the Sands have very tight, somewhat misshapen (ask Greg Sullivan about pocket shape) pockets.

The tables the women play their tournaments on are so easy. Watch them miss by a diamond and the ball still falls. Yes, they have to be easy to allow the "lesser" women to make some kind of showing but, wow! And yes, the cloth is new. Another factor is that fast cloth. None of them need to power stroke a shot to get position. All Allison and Karen do is soft stroke to another relatively straight shot. I would never question their accuracy. I do question their ability to defeat a top male player on difficult equipment. Lets change their game somewhat and have the top women play on nappy slow cloth, break from the "box", no Sardo rack, Humid conditions, Diamond Pro tables and any other difficult condition you can think of. Then lets see Allison or Karen defeat a top male. Not a chance! Perhaps then, some of you will have a greater understanding of how great Jean Balukas really was.

So what now? Gremlin is excited about another British snooker champion coming to the states to challenge the other British snooker champions already here. I'm so excited (yawn)! I'm cheering for Jeanette Lee (always). I watched (and played) her at the DCC. Perhaps it is George's influence. Perhaps it is the different equipment she plays on around the country. Perhaps it is a new found desire to win. Finally, did you see that nine year old boy play at the DCC? Somewhere out there is a young lady that has the desire and natural ability he has. It is only a matter of time.

Allison Fisher is nothing but a big fish in a little pond. Whenever she dogs it, which is often, her opponent just dogs it right back.

I'm not saying that the women can't improve, b/c I think they can, but right now women's pool compared to men's pool is like women's basketball and men's basketball.

And the fact that Balukis has the respect of every champion who played her is enough for me.

I see what you are saying and knew i'd get some kinda response like that. But I still think allison can beat any male player, maybe not with consistency, but she could win races. Like you said jeanette played at the dcc and placed, even on the women's tables jeanette misses a lot more shots than allison does. Talking about snooker players I always assumed that any snooker player that came over here to play pool would do very well, but this isn't totally true. I think that karen and allison both have adapted well to pool, and changing the equipment on them a lil, i'm sure they would adjust to it as well as a lot of the male players. One of allison's many great qualities is the ability to adapt to new things. The major difference between the men an women is the break, a lot of the women do break pretty good, but nothing like the top male players. Allison is a player to be respected by both men and women.
