a few years ago, (like 5-6) a pool room owner and myself went to Rochester NY to sell cues at a female pro tour stop/ convention. they had a thing where you could play any pro there 3 games for like $20-$30. I chose Jeanette Lee of course! she's my favorite pool pro. anyways, before playing I said to her: just play me like you would play anyone else...in other words, like we were playing for money. She agreed to whip on me, but never really had the chance. in game 1, I cannot remember who broke, but I made the 1, made the 2, and played her safe on the 3. she kicked and hit the 3 ball but didn't make it and left me a shot. I continued to run that rack. I broke and ran the next 2 GAMES!! I'll never forget playing her no matter what! talk about an ego booster! myself and the guy I was with stayed in the same hotel as the female pro's did...the 4 star Sheraton. that night, alot of the girls were in the bar conversing. we went in to have a drink and got invited into some good conversation. this was when Ming NG was still a pro. OH...I was 21 so that was 7 almost 8 yrs. ago.
the next day we even gave Helena Thornfeldt, and Ming NG a ride to the tourney. I remember cause this was when Karen Korr was still new to here. I played on a team with her, and she didn't play very well then. I got Jeanette to sign my case at the time, I got Karen Korr also, but her's rubbed off as it was not in permanent marker. I got Mike Massey's autograph also. he's a great guy. one other thing I remember was we were set up in a spot Paul f. Drexler wanted, and when we came back to it, he thought he was just going to move our stuff. the tourney director didn't think it was fair and told HIM to move. I don't know why I think of random things sometimes, but this is a good memory whenever it comes up. anyone else have a great story to share?
