Greetings from the derby city. I've been following AZ for years and finally found a good reason to join. My wife and I will be on vacation in Sarasota soon and while I will join her at the beach on occasion, sun and sand only go so far. Could anyone recommend a pool hall in the area. I will have my car and am willing to drive an hour or so to find it. Not necessarily looking for action but also not opposed to it. Thank you in advance

It has been a while since I was there but there were 2 Livingstons, One in south Sarasaota and one in Bradenton.
Sarasota use to be a hotbed for pool but from what I understand not so much anymore.
PM Forum member Pii He lives in Sarasota and can fill you in on what is happening now.

Rackem I sent a PM to Pii like you suggested (assuming my first attempt was succesful). Hank, I don't know my schedule so wednesday is up in the air but I will certainly make it there sometime. Could you reply with the name of your room so I can mapquest directions? Also I'd like to know what kind of tables you have. Thank you both for the replies.

Do you play barbox? There are plenty of them in Sarasota. Use to have lots of tourneys to play in it was fun. Plus I sold a lot of cues on the side.
My sister had a condo on Longboat Key she let me use. 98-03 It was happening.:grin-square:

The Wednesday evening tournament at Strokers in Palm Harbor is the best weekly event in the area. They have 1 diamond, 2 brunswicks, and a bunch of robertsons (not very good). The best tables are at Hammer Heads in Holiday 15 min north of there. 10 diamond bar tables, at least ten 9' diamonds (recently recovered), and a 3 cushion table. Hammer Heads has good tournaments the first and second Saturday of every month. 30$ entry 1000 added based on a 32 players.
