best production cue?

As far as production cues in your price range, I think Joss would be the right choice. Schon is pretty much the top of the line in production cues, but as expensive as they are, I'll rather go custom. Glad I did anyway.

JOSS all the way.

Best deals found on ebay, no problem picking up a plain one for under $200; you might even get a fancier one for around that price.

In my area there is a guy that takes trade-in cues. See if you can find that guy in your area and or listen for an opportunity to get a used cue. Sometimes you can run across a very good deal. I got a $400.00 Lucasi for $180.00, I love it.

I definitely would not buy a cue that I haven't tried out at least a couple of strokes. Certainly not from ebay.

Off Topic but I just love your signature line CaptainJR. Thanks for the humor. Jerry

best production cue

Hi ducky,

My two cents is for Schon. They are no more expensive than any other quality cue. The hit is solid. Well balanced. The inexpensive models hit exactly the same as the top of the line cues. Can you live with seeing lots of other players using the same cue?

My questions to other posters.

What makes a "custom" made cue in the price range of a Schon play better? Because its "custom"? If one were made to my exact specs and I got to revise it if I wasn't happy, it would be much more expensive than an entry level Schon!

What is a "custom" made cue? Is a Sneaky Pete made by Blud really a "custom" cue? What does one look like?

well ive heard some good reviews about falcon so i think my choices are now joss and falcon, cant afford a schon right now, i just want something that pretty good but not spending more for a schon or a custom

Chris, how in the world can you leave Joss East out of there. Dan James makes one of the best production cues out there. I wouldn't touch a Meucci, unless it was at least 7 years old, with a 10 foot pole.JMHO

I actually got a brand new $300 Joss for $113 off of ebay. It not only hits well but has a nice balance. Tim Scruggs actually took the .5oz bolt out of it as a favor to me, so at 18.5, it is a very good back up cue to my Scruggs. It initially seemed mid balanced and now is a little more front.

I have not been particularly impressed with the meuccis. I have also heard that the meuccis sold on ebay may be defective and was advised against buying one there, regardless of how good the deal seems.
