Best Shafts

Hi Im having a cue made with a 1930s butt. The reason is I want to try out a few different shafts since Im playing a lot more pool these days. I was thinking about having it built to take whatever Schon works with since I always see Schon shafts being sold for $150 used in nice condition. But I don't know much when it comes to which are the best shafts out there but Id like to learn by trying them out. I prefer vintage for my own personal preference but Im not sure if that's the best thinking. I shoot with a 1991 Adrian Viguera with a g10 pin. I like the cue and didn't notice much difference in play between that cue and my friends $1700 Schon.

I guess Im just want to try out other cue shafts to see what I can do with them on the table, the same way I tried out many baseball bats growing up until I knew I had the right one. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Hi,

Depending on your stroke, the contour of the taper and density or weight of the shaft will be the most important factors.

The way to find out which is for you is by trying a lot of different cue by test driving them.
