Best Spots?

I use tefco 95%
and as an alternative or because the customer wants brand ID, I use the Simonis ones. The Championship ones are a JOKE>

I get it... just pointing out the inconsistency is all.

I also understand that some people cling to a sense of tradition. Big black stickers with a white dot in the middle is what people are used to on a pool table.

I tend to have a very flat break shot that doesn't generate much hop into the head ball. As such I used nothing but a sharpie drawn dot as a foot spot marker that's more than enough for template locating. After 1.5yrs of solid use (home table) I have very minor wear at that location. Not much more than a good sized burn mark.

That's how I'd do my own home table, but this is a pool room owner asking for advice, so he has to worry about protection from wear.

My apologies Patrick... I somehow missed this post the last few times through.

If I were a room owner. I'd only use the full size spots. I have no opinion on which, as I have zero experience maintaining public tables.

I use an Avery clear page saver. It's thinner than any spot on the market or any template. The clear is thinner than the white. After a dozen racks or so, it will get even a little thinner. I used a template to place 15 of them into a permanent triangle and, after hundreds of racks, have not once had them affect my play.

Very good product.

Honestly... The big spots are for places that don't want whiners going back up to the counter to ask for a replacement.

"just have the balls racked in this general area"....

Never understood why spots need to be bigger than the normal snooker versions.
because pool balls are bigger than snooker balls, nah I don't know either, I just have a Championship Spot on mine, I believe it was in a package from like Muellers or Seyberts, but it works fine for 4+ years so far.
